A horrible crime has disturbed the peaceful town in Sibulan, Negros Oriental when a 52-year-old assumed drug user was caught after alleged r*pe-slay of his own 86-year-old mother.
According to a Facebook page, HEADZ UP Dumaguete, the incident occurred in Purok 5, Brgy. Bolocboloc, Negros Oriental. Locals were surprised when they found the dead body of 86-year-old Josefina Barrera Manaban, through the doorway of her home. She was drenched in blood and sustained various wounds from a bladed weapon.
Based on primary reports, the old lady was s*xually assaulted while her head was caved in.
According to police statements, the suspect in question was recognized as 52-year-old Roger Manaban, the old woman’s own son and citizen of the area. Officials think the 86-year-old woman died due to her wounds.
Besides the terrible view of the crime, people couldn’t think that someone would do this to their own mother. However, several residents claim that the suspect was confused prior to the arrest.
The 52-year-old suspect suspected addict is now in the care of the authorities. It’s currently unknown if the other family members will press charges against Roger Manaban, given that they’re still in shock over the horrifying incident.
The police investigation into the truth of this incident is currently ongoing.
